Job summary

Horizon Health Services in Virginia seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Float Nurse to support multiple clinic locations. You will travel between sites to provide clinical support, assist providers, and help deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires flexibility, compassion, and strong EMR documentation. You will room patients, take vitals, perform basic procedures, administer medications, and ensure infection control and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Current unrestricted LPN license.

Responsibilities

• Float between multiple practice locations as assigned.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliations.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and injections in accordance with provider orders and applicable regulations.
• Perform clinical duties including specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and wound care.
• Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Educate patients regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and infection control standards.
• Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies and procedures.
