Job summary

Amteck seeks a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman, installing, modifying and repairing electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings. You may supervise a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices and contribute to learning other divisions.

You will read schematics and project specs, measure and install conduits and devices, troubleshoot power circuits, and mentor junior workers while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial/industrial environments.
• Equipped with tools required by company policy and able to use them to perform tasks.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities and decision making.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to learn job-related material on the job through instruction and observation.
• Demonstrate teamwork, listen to directions, and work safely with others.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic construction documents.
• Willingness to participate in field training (on-the-job, classroom, or virtual).

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels and conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from drawings, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
