Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, potentially supervising a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. The role involves installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems and components, with opportunities to learn other divisions.

Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical construction, own tools, and a safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work and safety.
• Able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Ability to read project specs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
