Job summary

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is seeking Project Managers I or II to oversee HV substation and transmission line construction within the clean energy sector. The role includes travel across the US (up to 75%), managing safety, schedules, budgets, and subcontractors from pre-construction to closeout.

The ideal candidate has HV experience, strong cost control and contract management skills, and proficiency in Procore, MS Project, and CPM scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred in Electrical/Mechanical Eng, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years in HV substation/transmission line construction for PM I; 5+ years for PM II; experience in cost control and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Establish site safety requirements with the safety team.
• Create Project Execution Plan with pre-construction and operations teams.
• Monitor finances: costs, revenue projections, change orders, invoicing; maintain records.
• Procure materials and subcontracts; manage on-site progress, invoicing, and cost control.
• Submit monthly cost-to-complete projections and manage permits/licensing.
• Plan pre-construction activities; review estimates for risks, strategies, opportunities.
• Maintain project documentation: submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, work plans.
• Communicate with contracting parties and owners’ reps; manage closeout docs and retainage release.
• Build relationships with local markets; coordinate with project team and management.
