Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery in the United States is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead high‑voltage project design and engineering. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of drafters and engineers, ensuring quality, schedules, and budgets are met while coordinating with clients and vendors.

Required are a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of HV substations experience, with strong leadership and software skills. Occasional travel may be necessary to support project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in high voltage (230kV+) electrical substation engineering and design.
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Direct and manage projects to achieve quality, schedule, and budget goals.
Develop and update design documents and specs using engineering software.
Collaborate with customers and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI.
Travel as required for project needs and perform additional duties as assigned.
Identify potential project issues and provide solutions.
