Role Summary
The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position will be responsible for managing the team, planning all construction sequencing and meeting project goals. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.
This role requires travel and full-time on-site presence for assigned Advanced Facilities Group projects located across the United States.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Lead safety culture and promote an injury-free environment, investigating incidents and retraining staff as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
- Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO.
- Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate project site care, custody, and control.
- Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Attend and participate in progress and OAC meetings.
- Create and adjust project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Monitor project budgets and costs using project management systems.
- Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation and logs.
- Manage material and equipment needs.
- Support procurement processes and assist in selecting tools and equipment.
- Manage timecard approval to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure quality compliance through specifications and QA/QC processes.
- Assist in project closeouts and coordinate with all parties involved.
- Understand project pursuit processes and methodologies.
- Participate in project pre-planning and adjust throughout project lifecycle.
- Partner with field leadership on staffing and project change management.
- Participate in negotiations and project review meetings.
- Lead recruitment of top talent and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.
- Deep knowledge of construction processes, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
- Ability to manage budgets, build relationships, and understand project documentation and changes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
Experience
- Minimum 12+ years in construction; 10+ years in field supervision.
- Experience with Lean principles and high-tech projects preferred.
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
