Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a full-time Laboratory Care Technician to join the team at multiple M Health Fairview Clinic locations (Hugo, North Branch, Chisago City, Wyoming). The role involves phlebotomy, specimen handling, LIS/HIS data entry, and coordinating tests with various clinics.

Expect diverse patient interactions and travel across sites as needed. Ideal candidates will have a phlebotomy program, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy education program completed.
• Three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience OR enrollment in MLT/MLS program with phlebotomy course.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated customer service in diverse settings.
• Ability to work under stress and exercise independent judgment.
• Manual dexterity and competence in blood collection.
• Basic Life Support certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain biological specimens following SOPs.
• Collect specimens with proper technique and safety.
• Perform phlebotomy at multiple sites as needed.
• Enter orders and collection data into LIS/HIS accurately.
• Provide test results via LIS/HIS and phone.
• Monitor quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies.
• Mentor and train students when applicable.
• Prioritize workload to optimize patient outcomes.
• Travel between clinics as required by flex assignments.
