Fairview Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Care Technician at M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This part-time, benefit-eligible role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, data entry into LIS/HIS, and coordinating tests.

The position supports patient care across multiple service lines with a focus on accuracy and safety. The role requires completing a phlebotomy program or current enrollment in an MLT/MLS path, plus a clinical phlebotomy internship.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+
• Completion of a phlebotomy education program or enrollment in a program
• Three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy experience or enrollment in MLT/MLS
• Demonstrate competence in collecting blood samples
• Customer service experience in a diverse setting
• Ability to work under stress and maintain accuracy

Responsibilities

• Obtain biological specimens following SOPs
• Perform phlebotomy at various sites
• Enter orders and collection information into LIS/HIS
• Monitor logs for incomplete work and schedule tests
• Provide results by LIS/HIS or phone
• Maintain safety and infection control practices
• Mentor others in phlebotomy as needed
• Ensure specimens are properly identified and acceptable for testing
