Clean Harbors in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Traveling Field Services Technician to join our safety-conscious team. This role involves active fieldwork responsible for hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Position Details
This role requires approximately 50% travel within the U.S. for Emergency Response projects. All travel expenses are covered by the company, and a per diem is provided during travel. Hours and schedules vary based on emergency needs. We offer a competitive starting hourly wage with potential increases over the first 12 months. The initial two weeks involve paid training at an out-of-state academy.

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and acting safely.
- Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
- Operate light and heavy equipment, tools, and vibration-producing devices.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly, including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection.
- Work in various temperatures and weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
- Handle potentially hazardous chemical and physical agents.
- Work at heights, including ladders and scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
- Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into/out of trucks and containers.
- Work extended hours (>8 hrs) as needed.
- Attend safety and compliance meetings.
- Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely.
- Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with DOT and other requirements.
- Follow company and environmental safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis, approximately every other week.
- Participate in site remediation, decontamination, and hazardous material handling.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as outlined.
- Willingness to be on-call for emergency responses, including weekends and holidays, with possible extended hours.
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam as required.
- Compliance with OSHA's facial hair standards for respirator use.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous relevant labor experience.
