Canter Power Systems is seeking a dedicated service technician based in Durham who loves solving complex mechanical issues, being on the open road, and helping customers keep their power on.

As a Remote Service Technician, you’ll work from home while traveling around Durham to perform maintenance and repairs on Generac home standby generators.

If you are driven by curiosity, thrive in an autonomous role, and enjoy solving problems independently while providing excellent customer service, this is an opportunity to grow in a dynamic remote environment that values your skills and passion for tinkering.

Responsibilities:

• Service and repair generators, including changing air filters, oil, checking batteries, and spark plugs.
• Perform planned maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for residential standby generators (including DC & AC voltage equipment).
• Work independently with a work vehicle servicing residential generators.

Qualifications:

• Experience in generator maintenance, troubleshooting, and field service skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
