Job summary

GE Vernova's FieldCore team offers an entry-level Technical Field Advisor role within the Field Engineering Program. You’ll train in the classroom and on real job sites, learning hands-on with gas and steam turbines and related rotating equipment.

This travel-heavy role places you on customer sites to install, service, and calibrate equipment, while you grow into a skilled field engineer under experienced TFAs.

Qualifications

• Formal education in a technical or mechanical field is desirable but hands-on experience matters most.
• Some experience in field services, power generation, or industrial equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Must attend training in Houston for weeks to months.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of gas and steam turbines at customer sites under supervision.
• Assist with troubleshooting and routine maintenance checks across equipment types and vintages.
• Coordinate site activities, parts logistics and contractor walks-downs to keep outages on track.
• Prepare clear technical reports, job status updates, and site documentation for customers.
• Work safely and follow GE Vernova's EHS policies and set a positive example on site.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on installation, operation, and maintenance, building relationships on site.
