Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our traveling crew serving the Northeast. The role requires frequent overnight travel and away-from-home assignments, with local work being the exception.

Install, splice, diagnose, and maintain fiber optic systems across aerial, underground, and indoor environments. The ideal candidate has 2 years of fiber splicing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read maps and schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience working from a bucket truck at heights is preferred.
• Ability to read design maps and fiber schematics.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems.
• Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment.
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in equipment racks at central offices or sites.
• Perform fusion splicing as directed with project managers.
• Read maps, schematics and basic electronic designs.
• Work with project managers to meet project deadlines.
• Be on-call for emergency restoration and communicate workload status.
