Job summary

Sentry Electrical Group, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicing Technician to support underground fiber projects. The role starts in Wolcott, IN and requires travel across the US with the team, handling splicing tasks, documentation, and field reporting.

Candidate must have 4+ years of splicing experience, strong communication, and the ability to work with engineers and PMs. Per diem eligibility may apply; travel up to 100% is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of splicing experience.
• Education Level: High School/Some College Preferred.
• Field Of Study: Drafting, Electronics or Telecommunications.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
• Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
• Excellent skills in Outlook, Excel and MS Word.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Fusion or mechanical splicing of SM/MM fiber cables and termination of connectors (ST, SC, LC).
• Coordinate with engineers/OSP PMs for splicing tasks.
• Install and test closures on various cables.
• Perform fiber acceptance testing with OTDR/Scope.
• Route and dress fiber cables per plan and update docs.
• Provide red-line diagrams to update network docs.
• Report field splicing activity to management.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment in good condition.
• Travel as required to project sites across the US.
