Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our telecom construction crews traveling across Arizona and surrounding states.

Project locations rotate approximately every four weeks, providing a long-term career path for reliable operators. You will safely operate CAT 308 mini excavators on civil, utility or roadwork projects, support conduit and cable installation, and ensure compliance with digging and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of excavator experience in civil construction, roadbuilding or utilities.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is a strong asset.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret utility locates.
• Strong understanding of safe digging practices and job site safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 308 mini excavator for civil construction and earthwork activities.
• Excavate around underground utilities following locate and safety procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts for proper compaction.
• Assess soil conditions, moisture, and compaction requirements.
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation to keep production moving.
• Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Provide hands-on labor or crew support when needed.
• Communicate clearly with crew and supervisors to meet daily goals.
