Job summary

MasTec, Inc. seeks a field technician to perform maintenance and construction around high voltage substations and wind turbines. This role requires extensive domestic travel and a safety-first mindset to ensure work is completed correctly the first time.

Responsibilities include working near wind turbines, interacting with customers, performing electrical maintenance up to 34.5 kV, and completing safety paperwork daily while diagnosing faults and testing components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in electrical industry; 1 year if holding an electrical degree/certificate.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL DOMESTICALLY.

Responsibilities

• Working in and around wind turbines.
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers daily.
• Maintenance/construction on electrical systems up to 34.5 kV.
• Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork daily.
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults to prevent unscheduled shutdowns.
• Test electrical components and systems and perform VLF/megger testing.
• Operate m and lift equipment, perform line locates and transformer work.
