Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Traveling Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical scopes from planning through closeout on projects across the United States. You will supervise electrical subcontractors and field teams, ensure safe, quality installations, and manage schedules and resources for complex power delivery infrastructure.

The role emphasizes underground cabling, overhead lines, high- and medium-voltage equipment, and substation construction, with a strong focus on safety and adherence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of experience with high- and medium-voltage equipment, transmission/collection lines, and substation construction.
• Minimum 13 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and electrical construction practices.
• NFPA 70E certification.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NESC/NEMA/OSHA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise on-site electrical construction and substation work.
• Provide electrical expertise from planning through construction, testing, commissioning and closeout.
• Review drawings, submittals, specs and docs for quality and compliance.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and three-week look-ahead plans.
• Supervise subcontractors and own workforce for safety and quality.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, safety practices, and resource planning.
• Oversee installation and termination of fiber-optic cables.
• Ensure proper testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Enforce site safety procedures and Zero Injury program.
• Coach and develop field personnel and assist in hiring decisions.
