Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager on electrical construction projects.

You will act as liaison between field and office, help define objectives, plan, execute and finalize projects within schedule and budget. Responsibilities include supporting the senior project management team, coordinating with site supervision, handling scheduling, procurement, change management, invoicing oversight, and ensuring quality control

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Project Engineer experience in electrical construction.
• Understanding of engineering in electric power.
• Field experience coordinating with construction management.
• Extensive knowledge of scheduling, bids, takeoffs, change orders and contracts.
• Ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects.
• Ability to run a profitable portfolio.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Close support of the senior project management team.
• Develop project teams, deliver quality output, meet customer expectations, manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop and support project management techniques, schedules, procurement, and contractual requirements.
• Improve systems and processes to meet customer requirements and profitability goals with strong tracking methods.
• Ensure schedule requirements are met and adjust priorities as needed.
• Interact with customers to validate expectations before, during, and after completion.
• Provide oversight for third-party firms and subcontractors.
• Manage project review with emphasis on financial forecasting.
• Ensure high-quality engineering and project delivery.
• Communicate challenges, risks, and successes proactively.
• Oversee monthly invoicing per project terms and negotiate change orders.
• Coordinate with Site Superintendent(s) on installation methods, labor needs, and manpower forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to Quality Control processes.
• Ensure downstream team deadlines are met.
