Helix Electric Inc. is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager on projects and act as liaison between field and office. You will define project objectives by planning, executing and finalizing projects on schedule and within budget.

The role requires strong scheduling, cost control, and the ability to coordinate with site superintendents and subcontractors, while mentoring staff and ensuring quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of project engineer experience in heavy commercial/private electrical construction.
• Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
• Experience coordinating with construction management in the field.
• Excellent initiative, execution, and communication skills (oral and written).

Responsabilités

• Provide close support to senior project management and teams.
• Develop project teams to meet scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Deliver scheduling goals, procurement and contractual requirements.
• Improve systems and processes to meet profitability goals.
• Mentor and develop colleagues.
• Ensure schedule adherence and adjust milestones as needed.
• Communicate with customers to align expectations before, during, and after projects.
• Oversee third-party contractors and subcontractors.
• Oversee monthly invoicing and change orders.
• Coordinate with Site Superintendents on installation methods and manpower.
• Monitor quality control and downstream task deadlines.
