Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I/II to join our Data Center Structured Cabling Team in the Los Angeles area, with 100% travel on a rotation across the US. You will review, analyze, coordinate, and resolve field issues alongside the project team, maintaining strong communication and high integrity.

Responsibilities include managing permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout activities, as well as mentoring field engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits.
• Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses.
• Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report.
• Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents.
• Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence.
• Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase.
