Position Summary
The Traveling Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading on-site execution of commercial construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. This role serves as the primary field leader and on-site representative for FCP Services across a variety of construction project types.
This role supports project-based construction work, including tenant improvements, remodels, build-outs, restorations, and special projects.
This position requires a high level of independence, leadership, and adaptability, with extensive travel and responsibility for managing multi-trade job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead on-site construction execution from mobilization through closeout
- Coordinate daily field activities and manage project schedules
- Oversee multiple trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow
- Ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and schedule commitments
Safety & Quality Management
- Champion jobsite safety by enforcing OSHA standards and company policies
- Identify and address jobsite hazards proactively
- Monitor field quality and ensure installation meets specifications and standards
- Conduct inspections, job walks, and documentation to verify quality
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site logistics across multiple scopes
- Manage trade sequencing and scheduling to maintain production flow
- Support sourcing and engagement of local trade partners
- Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and site readiness
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Provide consistent updates, including daily reports and photo documentation
- Build strong, professional relationships with clients and partners
- Represent FCP Services with professionalism and accountability
Project Coordination & Closeout
- Partner with Project Managers to align on scope, schedule, and execution strategy
- Coordinate inspections, permitting, and compliance with local authorities
- Ensure all punch list and closeout activities are completed on time
- Deliver complete and accurate project documentation
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trade partners
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in fast-paced environments
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work remotely on job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in tenant improvements (T.I.), remodels, or commercial build-outs
- Knowledge of building codes, permitting, and inspection processes
- Experience working on multi-site or national construction programs
- Background in retail, hospitality, or commercial project environments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Field-based role with extensive travel (up to 100%)
- May require extended stays and off-hours or night work depending on project needs

- Exposure to construction environments and jobsite conditions
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Director, National Construction.
Provides field leadership to subcontractors and trade partners (no direct employee reports).
