Job summary

Servco Builders in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee construction projects at multiple sites, driving safety, schedule, and quality. You will coordinate subs, manage budgets, and maintain open communication with project teams, clients, and leadership.

The role requires extensive travel, strong leadership and reporting skills, and proficiency with ProCore and MS Office. This is a full-time, in-office position with a travel-focused field remit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Travel Superintendent managing direct retail construction projects.
• Ability to travel extensively (weeks or months) and manage multiple sites.
• Proven capability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in ProCore and Microsoft Office Suite; valid license/ID or passport.

• Manage day-to-day field operations, supervising subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Travel to project locations as required and maintain an active presence on job sites.
• Ensure work aligns with plans, specs, standards and building codes.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor manpower and progress.
• Conduct daily site inspections for quality, safety, and compliance.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Lead meetings with subcontractors and project teams; coordinate budgets and change orders.
• Maintain daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, and authorities; manage punch lists.
• Foster relationships with clients and stakeholders; assist with startup, turnover, and commissioning.

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects at various job sites across multiple geographic locations. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Traveling Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, managing site operations, and maintaining strong communication with project teams, clients, and company leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day field operations, including coordinating and supervising subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Travel to project locations as required and maintain an active presence on job sites.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, company standards, and applicable building codes.
• Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring manpower, production goals, and overall project progress to identify and resolve delays or conflicts.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and project coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage project budgets, change orders, schedules, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and other project records.
• Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction, and ensure timely completion of punch list items.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, owners, architects, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with project startup, closeout, commissioning, and turnover activities.

Desired Skillset

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Travel Superintendent managing direct retail construction projects.
• Demonstrated success managing construction projects across multiple job sites and different geographic locations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and project coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ProCore.
• Valid driver's license/ Real-ID/ Passport, cleared background verification.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight and extended stays (weeks or months) in hotels as project assignments require.
• Experience in commercial tenant improvement (TI) general construction & Travel required.

Compensation Range and Benefits.

$110,000 - $145,000 annually. Compensation is offered based on work history, years of experience, professional achievements and other nondiscriminatory metrics and factors. This is a full-time, in-office role.
