Job summary

Job description

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial roofing field experience
• Strong understanding of single-ply, shingle, metal, and standing seam roofing systems
• Minimum of 1 year of experience leading roofing crews or serving in a Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, manufacturer details, and project requirements
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage jobsite logistics, including manpower, materials, equipment, staging, deliveries, access, and site organization
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Comfortable utilizing mobile field technology and project reporting systems
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation and ability and willingness to travel
• Ability to safely access roofs using a ladder
• Results-driven, ambitious, and self-motivated
• Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 75% of the time, with some projects requiring extended on-site durations

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial roofing field experience with progressive crew or field leadership responsibility
• OSHA 30 certification
• Manufacturer certifications or specialized roofing-system training
• Experience working on geographically dispersed or out-of-state projects

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Accountability

• Lead and direct field crews in the execution of established production plans
• Confirm crew readiness and communicate production goals, priorities, and expectations
• Provide hands-on direction, training, and support to ensure crews perform work safely, correctly, and efficiently
• Maintain accountability among field personnel for company policies, jobsite expectations, and assigned responsibilities
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, communication, and ownership among field teams
• Serve as the on-site leader and set the standard for performance and professionalism

Preconstruction Planning

• Review project scope, production expectations, plans, specifications, and known site constraints with the Production Manager before work begins
• Conduct site assessments to confirm field conditions, access, staging, logistics, safety requirements, and production needs before mobilization
• Develop daily field plans to achieve established production goals and project milestones, including staging, scheduling, manpower, equipment, and site logistics

Daily Production & Site Management

• Serve as the day-to-day on-site liaison for routine field coordination and maintain professional communication with clients and field representatives
• Monitor daily production and proactively resolve delays, constraints, resource needs, and changing field conditions while escalating issues requiring management support
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional jobsite, including housekeeping, property protection, material inventory, site security, and watertightness
• Maintain accurate and timely field documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, quality and safety records, delays, changed conditions, client requests, and other project-specific issues

Quality Control, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all work is installed in accordance with project plans, specifications, manufacturer and warranty requirements, client expectations, and company quality standards
• Perform ongoing quality-control inspections, verify critical installation details, and correct workmanship deficiencies before subsequent work proceeds
• Enforce project-specific safety requirements, including PPE, fall protection, and established safe work practices
• Conduct and document required safety meetings, JHAs, and inspections, and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors
• Prepare for required manufacturer, client, third-party, and internal inspections and ensure all deficiencies and punch-list items are corrected and documented

Project Closeout & Completion

• Coordinate final cleanup, removal or return of excess materials and equipment, and jobsite restoration
• Perform internal inspections to identify and correct deficiencies before manufacturer and client walkthroughs
• Participate in final inspections and applicable third-party walkthroughs, promptly addressing remaining field items
• Confirm all field work, corrections, documentation, and site restoration are complete before final demobilization and turnover
