Job Description

Join our Traveling Construction Materials Technician team, where you can embark on new opportunities, develop professionally, and contribute to thrilling projects nationwide. This position involves travel, and applicants must live within a two-hour radius from one of our offices located in Texas.

In this position, you will travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more in many geographical areas. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling, working on various high-profile projects, and who is looking to elevate their construction material testing career.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of a materials engineering project to ensure safe completion on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Complete projects as per contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems, recommend or resolve issues, and minimize delays.
  • Responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets, forecasts, and coordination with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors.
  • Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status to team and clients.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and deliver work products accordingly.
  • Coordinate efforts with APR to ensure engagement throughout the project, especially at critical junctures.
  • Handle invoice approvals, change orders, and collections.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manage small projects or phases of larger projects under supervision.
  • Implement established project plans.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues or escalate as needed.
  • Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety plans.
  • Analyze project requirements, perform calculations, and complete reports and deliverables.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and timelines; monitor activities and allocate resources.
  • Lead project meetings and prepare status reports.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate staff efforts.
  • Deliver project outputs to clients as per scope and schedule.
  • Ensure work is within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate with APR for oversight and review at critical points.
  • Understand and manage project risks, adhering to company policies.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices, fostering a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and improve quality standards on projects.
  • Maintain consistent quality in project and proposal delivery, engaging APRs early on.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field, with at least 2 years of related experience, or a minimum of 6 years’ related experience without a degree.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • 100% travel required.

This position is categorized as a "Remote Only" position, meaning employees typically work from home or another location without a designated office workspace.

The salary range is $62,700 - $97,200, adjustable based on location, qualifications, and experience.
