Job Description

Would you like to explore more and take your career to the next level? Join our Traveling Construction Materials Technician team, where you can embark on new opportunities, develop professionally, and contribute to thrilling projects nationwide. This position involves travel, and applicants must live within a two-hour radius from one of our offices located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.

In this position, you will travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more in many geographical areas. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling, working on various high-profile projects, and who is looking to elevate their construction material testing career.

General Responsibilities

  1. Manage all aspects of a materials engineering project to ensure safe, timely, and within scope and budget completion.
  2. Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  3. Troubleshoot operational problems, recommend or resolve issues, and minimize delays.
  4. Handle resource management, project scheduling, budgets, forecasts, and coordinate with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors.
  5. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status to the team and client.
  6. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
  7. Communicate with clients and deliver work products to their satisfaction.
  8. Coordinate with APR for engagement throughout the project, especially at critical junctures.
  9. Approve invoices, prepare change orders, and manage collections.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage small projects or phases of larger projects under supervision.
  • Implement established project plans.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Lead safety efforts and ensure compliance with safety plans.
  • Analyze project requirements, perform calculations, and complete reports and deliverables.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and timelines; monitor activities and allocate resources.
  • Lead project meetings and prepare status reports.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and meet project milestones.
  • Deliver project outputs within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop understanding of project risks and adhere to company risk policies.
  • Promote safety and quality standards continuously.
  • Engage with APRs on projects from the onset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field, with a minimum of 2 years’ related experience, or 6 years’ relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time.

This position is categorized as "Remote Only," meaning work is from home or another location without a designated office workspace.

The salary range is $62,700-$97,200, with final compensation based on experience and location.
