Join our Traveling Construction Materials Technician team, where you can embark on new opportunities, develop professionally, and contribute to thrilling projects nationwide. This position involves travel, and applicants must live within a two-hour radius from one of our offices located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.


In this position, you will travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more in various geographical areas. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling, working on diverse high-profile projects, and advancing their construction material testing career.


General Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of a materials engineering project to ensure safe completion on time, within scope and budget.
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems, recommend or resolve issues, and minimize delays.
  • Handle resource management, project scheduling, budgets, forecasts, and coordinate with external vendors or contractors.
  • Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status to the team and client.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
  • Communicate with clients and deliver work products to their satisfaction.
  • Coordinate efforts with APR to ensure engagement at critical project junctures.
  • Approve invoices, prepare change orders, and oversee collections.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage small projects or phases of larger projects under supervision.
  • Implement established project plans.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems, minimizing delays.
  • Lead safety efforts, including compliance with safety plans.
  • Analyze project requirements, perform calculations, and complete reports and deliverables.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and time; monitor activities and allocate resources.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare status reports.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate staff efforts.
  • Deliver project deliverables to clients as per scope and schedule.
  • Ensure work is delivered within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate with APR for oversight and review at critical points.
  • Develop awareness of project-related risks and adhere to company risk policies.
  • Lead safety initiatives, promote a safe work environment, and ensure safety practices are followed.
  • Monitor and promote quality standards and practices on projects.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery, engaging APRs early in projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field, with a minimum of 2 years' related experience, or 6 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
  • 100% travel required.

This position is categorized as "Remote Only," meaning employees work from home or another location without a designated office workspace.

The salary range for this position is $62,700 - $97,200, adjusted based on location, qualifications, and experience.
