Newsandtribune seeks a Surgical Technologist for a Digestive Health Center setting. Must hold CST or TS-C certification and have at least one year of surgical tech experience. Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or certificate program completed.
• CST certification through NBSTSA or TS-C through NCCT required.
• BLS certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Able to scrub basic surgical procedures independently.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.
• Familiar with electronics, computers, robotics and lasers related to surgical care.
• Understanding of sterile technique and perioperative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic surgical and endoscopic procedures in a Digestive Health Center.
• Work day shifts, 8–9 hour days with a set day off; on-call rotation for weekends.
• Use Epic for charting and recordkeeping.
• Organize and coordinate supplies and equipment for an efficient dept.
• Collect and document patient data as directed by the RN and unit standards.
• Maintain sterile environment and separation of clean/dirty supplies.
• Assist providers with procedures, treatments and specimen collection.
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms and restock as needed.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization and reprocessing of endoscopes and instruments.
• Serve as a resource for departmental technical equipment and inventory.
• Support RN and provide patient care within scope; communicate with team.

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or completion of a Surgical Technology certificate program

• Assist in organizing and coordinating supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department
• Collect and document patient data as directed by the RN and unit performance standards
• Apply aseptic principles to maintain a clean and sterile environment, including separation of clean and dirty supplies
• Assist providers with procedures, treatments, and specimen collection
• Clean, stock, and prepare exam and procedure rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
• Assist with cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of endoscopes and instruments per policy
• Serve as a resource for technical equipment within the department
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies
• Support the RN and provide patient care within scope as directed
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
