Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a hospital OR position. Requires NBSTSA CST certification with Epic EMR experience and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience; BLS is required and a license may be needed.

Responsibilities include day shifts (3x12s) or 5–8 hour shifts, weekends/holidays, and potential travel within the unit. The role supports multiple OR settings and a variety of case types.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA CST certification required (CSFA acceptable per posting).
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience.
• BLS certification required (AHA/ARC).
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Day shift 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Schedule may include 5–8 hour shifts from 07:00–15:30.
• Weekends, holidays, call, and float as needed.
• Supports Ambulatory, General, and Vascular OR settings.
• Cases include vascular, ENT, general, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, robotics, thoracic, urology.
• Perform CST duties across multiple specialties.
• Apply aseptic technique, sterilization, and universal protocol.
• Maintain laser, radiation, sharps, specimen, and fire safety protocols.
• May care for COVID-19 patients.

• Schedule may also include 5-8 hour shifts from 0700-1530
• Weekends, holidays, call, and floating as needed by the unit
• Supports Ambulatory, General, and Vascular OR settings
• Case types include vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neuro surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures
• Epic EMR experience required
• Perform surgical technologist duties across a wide range of specialties including vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures
• Apply aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Maintain awareness of laser safety, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling, and fire safety protocols
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Tobacco and fragrance free facility
• Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), or 1 of 2 if contract spans fewer holidays
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• First-time travelers accepted
• Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
