Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 trauma experience for a hospital operating room position.

The role requires 3+ years of inpatient surgery, NBSTSA certification, and BLS, with MA state program accreditation. Expect 12-hour shifts, a 3x12 schedule, and opportunities to cover multiple OR campuses within the health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient surgery experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required (no other certs accepted)
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Must be competent in at least 5 listed surgical specialties
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program per MA state requirements
• Strong communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 22-room hospital operating suite
• Cover a wide range of surgical specialties including general, GYN, GU, oral, ORL, bariatric, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatric, trauma, and spine
• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts on a 3x12 schedule with start times of 7am, 9am, or 11am
• Provide 36 hours per week with every third weekend as needed
• Attend every other holiday coverage
• Take one call shift per assignment period
• May float to other OR campuses within the health system
• Support a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical services department
• Collaborate with a large surgical team across a wide range of case types
• First-time travelers may be considered
