American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring NBSTSA or NCCT certification and 1 year of CVOR experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in CVOR specialty required
- NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Required experience with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, CABG, EVAR, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, Pericardial Window, TAVR, TEVAR, VAD, and ECMO
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- License required if applicable
- Documentation required for consideration includes date of birth, SSN, and copies of certifications
- Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required
Responsibilities
- CVOR unit with 6 ORs total: 4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 PV room
- Cardiac surgery case types include CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVR, TVR, aortic aneurysm/dissection, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and trans-catheter valve replacements
- Vascular surgery case types include open and endovascular AAA, thoracic/thoracoabdominal aneurysm with fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, peripheral bypass, amputation, and ECMO decannulation
- Preferred case exposure includes general, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatric, and transplant surgeries
- Day shift schedules available: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45am-6:45pm or 10:45am-10:45pm
- On-call requirements of up to 2 weekends per month and up to 2 weekdays per week, plus holiday call as needed
- Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
- Works in a Short Term Acute Care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma status
- Scrubs provided by facility for this position
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
- Accepts local candidates only if within 100 miles of the facility radius restriction, with no exception for this specialty
- Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm or per diem employee
- RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
- Pending state license not accepted; license in hand preferred
