American Traveler seeks an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience required
- BLS certification required
- NCCT or NBSTSA certification preferred
- Level II Trauma experience required, Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, VAD, and EVAR
- Familiarity with aseptic technique, universal protocol, and sterilization/disinfection practices
- Compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration
- License required if applicable
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
Responsibilities
- CVOR unit within an acute care hospital setting
- 4x10 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- On-call requirements with weekend call coverage required
- No floating required outside of scope
- Epic charting system used
- 13-week assignment length
- Assist with a wide range of vascular and cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Support aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization protocols
- Participate in universal protocol (time out) procedures and specimen handling
- Maintain radiation safety and laser safety standards in the OR
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
- Only one time-off request permitted per 13-week assignment, approved individually upon offer
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
