Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant experienced in cardiovascular procedures for a hospital surgical services position. Responsibilities include assisting the surgical team during CABG, VATs, and valve replacements in a dedicated cardiovascular unit; day shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday with a rotating day off, plus call coverage.

Candidates outside 50 miles are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of cardiovascular surgical experience.
• Comfort with vein harvesting for CABG procedures.
• Experience assisting in on- and off-pump CABG, VATs, and valve replacements.
• EPIC charting experience preferred.
• Active State RN license required at consideration.

Responsibilities

• Support hospital surgical services unit specializing in cardiovascular procedures.
• Work day shifts: 4x10 hours, Monday–Friday with a rotating day off; call coverage required.
• Assist the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures including CABG, VATs, and valve replacements.
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
• Former staff must be separated at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days off during orientation's first week.

• Experience assisting in on and off pump CABG procedures, VATs, and valve replacements
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Current valid State RN License required at time of consideration
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with a rotating day off
• Call coverage required
• Assist the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures including CABG, VATs, and valve replacements
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Former staff members must have been separated from employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
