Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant with CSFA certification and 3+ years of experience for a hospital surgical services position supporting multiple specialties.

4x10-hour day shifts, on-site with weekend and weekday call requirements; travels considered for candidates within 75 miles of the facility and comfortable working across general, orthopedic, plastic, podiatry, and urology cases.

Qualifications

• CSFA certification is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
• Experience suturing and closing incision sites highly preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Must pass EKG competency test.
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher.

Responsibilities

• 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
• Supports general, orthopedic, plastic, podiatry, and urology surgical cases.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Weekday call required once per week (5:15 PM–6:45 AM).
• Weekend call required every 6th weekend (Friday 5:15 PM through Monday 6:45 AM).
• Assist surgeons across multiple specialties including general, orthopedic, plastic, podiatry, and urology procedures.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility.
