Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position in Memphis. Must have NBSTSA certification and travel experience, plus ACLS/BLS. 1:1 patient care and a range of surgical specialties are involved in a fast-paced environment.

Position requires day shifts (4x10s or 5x8s) with potential holiday work; extensive safety protocols and Epic charting are used. Travel assignments with housing support are available.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• PALS and TNCC preferred.
• Experience: 2 years with travel or 3 years without travel; no local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Services department within a teaching hospital setting.
• Trauma Level I experience required; Level II preferred.
• 1:1 patient ratio experience.
• Day shift schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s; schedule subject to change.
• Scrub in for a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro, general, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Perform instrument preparation, sterile field maintenance, specimen handling, and universal protocol time-out procedures.
• Maintain infection control, laser safety, and radiation safety standards.

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position requiring NBSTSA certification and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with travel experience, or 3 years without travel experience
• At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required; first-time travelers not considered
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• License required if applicable
• Extensive surgical specialty skills required or preferred across vascular, gynecology, neurology, orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgery, endoscopic, robotics, urology, ENT, plastics, bariatrics, transplant, and thoracic procedures

Responsibilities

• Surgical Services department within a teaching hospital setting

• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No local candidates accepted; 100-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
• Vaccination status must be included with candidate profile
• Any certifications expiring during the assignment require a documented renewal plan
