The role features a 9-OR facility, day shifts (3x12s from 6:30a–7:00p), and an on-call requirement. Travel details include housing, per diem, and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CST experience with general surgery exposure.
• Experience with Ortho, Neuro, Eyes and Robotic procedures.
• BLS certification (AHA only) and NBSTSA certification required.
• Teaching/community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Must provide and wear a radiation badge.
• License required if applicable.
• SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting with 9 operating rooms.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30a to 7:00p.
• On-call requirement of one weekday shift per week; occasional weekend coverage.
• Floats between service lines; Epic EMR preferred.
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for OR staff.
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist with extensive general surgery experience
• Experience with Ortho, Neuro, Eyes, and Robotic procedures required
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must provide and wear a radiation badge (provided by agency, not facility)
• License required if applicable
• SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting with 9 operating rooms
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30a to 7:00p
• On-call requirement of one weekday call shift per week
• Occasional weekend coverage may be needed
• Floats between service lines within the facility
• Epic EMR preferred
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for OR staff
• First-time travelers will be considered depending on experience
• Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, depending on unit needs
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November)
• Completion of pre-start training modules required, averaging about 4 hours
