Job Summary:Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Nights the organization is seeking a dedicated RN to join a 26‑bed step‑down unit.

This position involves managing patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope. The nurse will provide patient care during 12‑hour night shifts, with a focus on clinical excellence and adherence to department protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: 12‑hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 01/11/2027.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated; active AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC Electronic Patient Charting System; experience in a telemetry or step-down environment.

Additional Information: Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles; orientation includes 1 shift hospital orientation and 2 shifts of unit orientation (one day, one night). Travelers will be expected to float with an assigned ratio of 1:5. The unit operates under a 2 trauma level and has in‑house hospitalist from 7 AM to 5 PM, with an advanced practice nurse available afterwards, and 24/7 pharmacy support. The department maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 and utilizes EPIC for charting.
