Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Job Summary

Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a hospital setting. This role involves providing care for patients with conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke. The successful candidate will work nights, with a focus on handling complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment, including titrating drips and interpreting telemetry strips.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting, valid drivers license, and the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro; familiarity with telemetry monitoring; ability to troubleshoot CPAP equipment; experience floating to ICU; strong teamwork and patient care attitude
• Additional Information:
  • RN's will be required to pass a pass/fail exam on skills learned during orientation with a passing score of 90%
  • Unit handles a high volume of admits and discharges, requiring efficient and patient-oriented care
  • Float to ICU is possible if the candidate has relevant experience
  • Candidates must adhere to fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails and must meet radius rule requirements of 50 miles, with no full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with associated facilities within the past year
  • RTO needs to be requested upfront; additional RTO requests will not be approved
  • Shift notes: Fast paced with many admissions and discharges
