Job summary
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Travel RN for Telemetry/Stepdown in Uniontown, PA. Work in a 28-bed IMCU/Tele-Stepdown unit with cardiac cases, EPIC EMR, and 12-hour days. You will titrate drips, read telemetry strips, and provide high-acuity care while supporting ICU float when needed.
Requirements include active RN license (PA or Compact), 2+ years RN experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EPIC EMR experience preferred. Start ASAP for 13 weeks with 36 hours weekly.

- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Unexpired copy of driver's license required.
Responsibilities
- Provide telemetry and stepdown-level care to cardiac and post-ICU patients.
- Titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine and Heparin.
- Read telemetry strips and monitor patient status; manage ventilatory support as needed.
- May float to ICU; participate in unit-specific orientation with a preceptor.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Stepdown position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with proficiency reading telemetry strips.
- Work in a 28-bed private-room IMCU/Tele-Stepdown unit within an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5, or 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients
- Uses EPIC EMR (transitioning from Cerner)
- 3 shifts of 12-hour days per week, 7a-7:30p
- Must work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday for days)
- Must work one winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's), rotating into permanent staff holiday schedule
- May float to ICU as helping hands
- Central monitor station for the entire hospital; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips despite dedicated monitor tech support
- Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
- Insulin administered at set-rate only; no sedation drips
- Manages patients on Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow ventilation
- No dedicated IV team, though ICU charge nurses or ICU Director available for difficult IV access
- In-house Hospitalist coverage 24/7, with Intensivist coverage in ICU 7 days/week from 7a-7p and on-call after hours
- In-house Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available 24/7
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Unexpired copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Provide telemetry and stepdown-level care to cardiac and post-ICU patients
- 2-shift unit-specific orientation with a preceptor provided
- Navy blue scrubs required; jackets, if worn, must also be navy blue
- Day charge nurse typically does not carry a patient assignment; night charge nurse may carry an assignment
- 2 nurse aides scheduled per shift during day and mid shifts, with no CNA coverage after 11pm on nights
- Director offers flexible block scheduling and maintains strong communication with staff
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered for travel positions at this facility
- Previous travelers at any WVU Medicine location must complete a 2-year break before reapplying
- Cumulative travel assignments within the WVU system cannot exceed one year before requiring a 2-year break
