Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Toledo, OH. The role requires an active OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience, including intermediate medication drips.

You will work 3x12 hour day shifts with every other weekend, floating across multiple facilities within the Toledo area. Responsibilities include care of adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Level I trauma center, with EPIC charting, 1:4 patient ratio, and a focus

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, including familiarity with intermediate medication drips (heparin, nitro, cardizem, insulin, etc)
• Charge nurse experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Observation medicine experience preferred
• Pending licenses not accepted

Responsibilities

• Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg within an Observation Unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, GI bleed, CHF, COPD, seizure, and more
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within service line and across Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities to units including Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surg, and Uro/Vascular
• EPIC charting system required
• Fast-paced environment with a length of stay goal of 18-24 hours
• Provide care primarily to patients managed under EDOBS providers located within the department
• Work in a Level I trauma center and the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Schedules subject to change with two-week notice provided by facility
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require management approval
