Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift in Colorado. Requires CO or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Epic charting is required and prior charge nurse or trauma exposure is preferred. Telemetry, lines management and post‑cardiac care skills are expected. The PCU/DOU/IMC setting offers 3:1 patient ratio, night schedule 19:00–07:30, with occasional cross‑facility floating and no on‑call

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Line management (arterial/central/PICC/peripheral) and vasoactive drips management
• Wound care, isolation precautions and post‑cardiac care experience

Responsibilities

• Care for PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patients in a night shift setting (19:00–07:30)
• Maintain 1:3 patient ratio and perform unit floating as needed
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Assist with sheath removal, TR band, and TAVR care as needed
• Complete facility modules within first week
• Travelers welcome if experience meets requirements
• No on‑call requirements; occasional unit cross‑coverage
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a CO/Compact RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• 2 years of experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with arterial line, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line management
• Experience managing vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
• Cardiovascular care experience including pacemakers, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac cath or surgery care

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting
• Night shift (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:30, various days of the week
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Floating required between like units, with rare floating to sister facilities in the North Region
• Epic charting system used
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No on-call requirements
• Care for patients in PCU/Stepdown, telemetry, orthopedic, neurological, and surgical populations
• Responsibilities may include sheath removal, TR band application, and TAVR care
• Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers welcome to apply if experience requirements are met
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during certain weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests allowed
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility
• Previous UCHealth employees must disclose name used during employment for eligibility verification
• Candidates who applied to UCHealth's internal travel or staff positions within the last two years are ineligible
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
