American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit in Council Bluffs, IA. An IA or Compact RN license and prior stepdown experience are required, along with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

The role involves a 22-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, titrating drips, telemetry, and Epic EMR usage. The 13-week travel assignment includes rotating 12-hour night shifts (0630-1900, 1830-0700) and weekend/holiday coverage.

Formación

• IA or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Stepdown/PCU experience required.
• Must pass a pass/fail open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90%.
• Driver's license required.
• Artificial nails prohibited for all patient care staff.

Responsabilidades

• Acute care Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit in a Level 3 trauma facility.
• 22-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Common diagnoses include heart failure, AFib, respiratory distress, and stroke.
• RNs required to titrate drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro.
• Charge nurse on each shift who also carries a full patient assignment.
• Patient care techs available at a 1:10 ratio.
• RNs must troubleshoot CPAP equipment.
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
• 12-hour night shifts, cyclic scheduling (0630-1900 and 1830-0700).
• Every-other-weekend requirement.
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
• Float to ICU required if appropriate experience is held.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• 13-week assignment.
• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges.
• Candidates with a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a patient-focused approach succeed in this environment.
• One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
• Candidates may not have been directly employed with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year.
• RTO must be submitted upfront; first-time travelers may be considered.
