Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool position in North Carolina. The role requires at least one year of nursing experience and NC or Compact RN licensure.

The nurse will float to Progressive Care/Stepdown units, maintain typical PCU ratios, and work 36 hours per week on a night shift schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Every other weekend is required, with no on-call duties, and a focus on safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float with hospital's Inpatient Float Pool to Progressive Care/Stepdown units (Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, Burn Center).
• May float to acute care units as needed.
• Maintain patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU units, up to 1:5 on acute care units.
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm–7:00am; 36 hours per week over 3 shifts.
• Every other weekend required; no on-call responsibilities.
• Provide direct clinical nursing care across multiple progressive care specialties.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care and discharge planning.
• Participate in unit performance improvement and effective communication systems.
• Promote a safe, clean hospital environment; holiday coverage required.
