American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience to work night shifts in a Level I trauma center's cardiac telemetry and med-surg units.

The role requires active RN license, BLS certification, and Nursys verification within 30 days of start. Expect to float between cardiac telemetry and med-surg units with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for a 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit with post-op care.
• Unit in Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages.
• Nurse to patient ratio 1:4-6; support from PCTs and unit staff.
• Float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments as needed.
• Night shifts 18:30-07:00; up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week cycle.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses and support staff; ensure discharge planning.

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating patient condition to the care team
• Serve as primary coordinator among disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
• Work collaboratively in nursing teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
• Holiday coverage may be required based on departmental need
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment requiring critical thinking and sound judgment
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
