Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience and an IN or compact RN license. The role is based in Indiana with Epic EMR experience preferred and a 24-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit.

The RN will work a night schedule (18:45-07:15) three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend required. Core duties include patient assessment, care planning, education, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Med-Surg Telemetry unit with 24 beds.
• 6:1 patient ratio.
• Mixed diagnosis patient population.
• EMR: Epic.
• Uses IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer equipment.
• Skills needed include trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac management, and dialysis assessment.
• RN reads telemetry, no titration required.
• Support staff includes CRN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists.

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provides patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge.

• Complies with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model.
