The role includes 12-hour day shifts, alternating weekends, on a Level 3 trauma unit using Epic EMR, with floating and charge nurse support as needed.

Qualifications

• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit with 32 beds in a Level 3 trauma facility.
• Patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5 for telemetry and surgical patients.
• RNs titrate Heparin and Cardizem drips (up to 10 mg/hr).
• Read telemetry strips and participate in daily rounds at 10am.
• 12-hour day shifts on a patterned schedule; weekends typically every other weekend.
• Floating as needed, with travelers floated first based on skill set.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Telemetry unit (8 ACE) with 32 beds in a Level 3 trauma facility
• Patient ratios of 1:4 and 1:5 for medical-surgical telemetry and surgical specialty patients
• Certified bariatric surgical unit
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour day shifts on a patterned schedule
• Weekend requirement typically every other weekend, based on unit needs
• Call/standby requirement based on census
• Floating required, with travelers floated first based on skill set
• Nurse aide support at 1:8 ratio, 1:10/11 after 2300 on nights
• Tele/monitor techs available (based remotely in Arizona)
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support available on unit
• RT support available for CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment
• RNs titrate Heparin and Cardizem gtt (up to 10 mg/hr) drips
• RNs responsible for reading telemetry strips
• Participate in daily Multi-Disciplinary Rounds meeting at 10am
• Unit-specific orientation checklist provided
• Any scrub color permitted
• Holiday coverage preferred, to be discussed during manager phone interview
• First-time travelers may be considered
