Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift in California. Requires CA RN license and med-surg tele experience; BLS mandatory, ACLS/NICHE/NIHSS preferred.

Duties include telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and patient care on a med-surg tele unit. Epic EMR experience required; rotation may include other campuses. The role emphasizes a 7:00 PM–7:30 AM schedule, 1:5 patient ratio, and a local candidate rate within 50 miles.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS, NICHE, NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols.
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE.
• Experience managing IV insulin protocols and renal failure patients.
• Experience with surgical drains and ostomy/feeding tube care.
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required.

Responsibilities

• Med-surg telemetry unit.
• May float to alternate campuses.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• 13-week assignment length.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and med-surg nursing care, with floating to other campuses as needed.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate.
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract.
• Holiday coverage required for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates.
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position.
