Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a Post Surgical Unit in California. The candidate must have an active CA RN license, ACLS/BLS, and strong EKG interpretation skills to monitor acutely ill adults and geriatrics.

The role includes day shifts (3x12), possible weekend work, on-call duties, and potential rotations to other telemetry or med-surg units. Housing and travel reimbursements available per policy.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC).
• EKG interpretation skills required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Experience reading cardiac rhythms and responding to changes.
• Experience administering IV cardiac medications.

Responsibilities

• Care for acutely ill adult and geriatric telemetry patients in post-surgical unit.
• Provide care with cardiac monitoring, addressing physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs.
• Administer IV cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem), heparin and insulin drips as ordered.
• Work day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; 3x12-hour shifts; every other weekend.
• On-call as needed; may float to other telemetry or med-surg units.
• Coordinate care using nursing process, technology, and communication skills.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a Post Surgical Unit requiring EKG interpretation skills and a CA RN license.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC)
• EKG interpretation skills required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience reading cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Experience administering IV cardiac medications
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year
• 7-year work history verification required

Responsibilities

• Post Surgical Unit within a hospital setting caring for acutely ill adult and geriatric telemetry patients
• Delivers care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, addressing physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs
• Administers IV cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem, as well as heparin and insulin drips
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call as needed
• May float to other telemetry or med-surg units, including the SCU hybrid unit, based on hospital needs
• Coordinates care delivery using nursing process, technology, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• All compliance documents due 10 days prior to start date
