Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Telemetry RN with 1+ year of telemetry experience for a rotating shift assignment in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license valid in PA or a compact state and demonstrates proficiency with Cerner charting and telemetry monitoring. Qualifications

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with 1+ years of experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications for a rotating shift position.

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
• Cerner charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Skilled in IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Substance withdrawal and seizure disorder management experience preferred
• DL, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours)
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and genitourinary/renal patient populations
• Manages conditions including CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and renal failure
• Skilled care including IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula
• Cardiac drip management and monitoring, including pre/post cardiac cath care
• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced telemetry environment with rotating shift coverage
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Required to work every other holiday
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year gap before returning through an agency
• Travelers who have completed a cumulative year within the health system must wait two years before returning
• Travel pairs may be considered based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Only one facility within the health system can be pursued at a time for this assignment
