American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMCU travel position in Marquette, MI. Active Michigan licensure and 2+ years PCU experience are required. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be current. The role includes night shifts, 36 guaranteed hours, no scheduled call, and on-call may occur with census changes.

The unit features a Level 2 ICU, 225 beds, and a broad specialty services portfolio. Housing allowances and travel/licensure reimbursements are offered.

Responsibilities

PCU/IMCU duties within a 225-bed specialty care hospital with Level 2 ICU
Patient-to-nurse ratio 1:3 for IMCU
Care for post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, sepsis
Utilizes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, ventilators, BiPAP, high flow oxygen
Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, every other weekend, 36 hours weekly
Floating on a rotation with other travel nurses, bi-weekly orientation
Cerner EMR used; travel resume includes housing allowance and reimbursements

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMCU travel position requiring active MI licensure and 2 years of PCU experience.

Requirements

Active RN license in Michigan (MI) required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, or pediatric DKA experience preferred
Positive team player personality fit preferred

Responsibilities

PCU/Intermediate Care Unit within a 225-bed specialty care hospital featuring a Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma Center, and CRRT programs
24-bed unit with a 1:3 patient-to-nurse ratio for IMCU patients
Common diagnoses include post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock
Utilizes equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
Uses Cerner EMR
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Every other weekend required
36 guaranteed weekly hours
No scheduled call, though on-call may be required if unit census drops
Floating required, done on a rotation with other travel nurses
Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Facility offers services including Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
Located in Marquette, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, home to Northern Michigan University
Scrub colors must be Galaxy, Royal, or navy blue
Hoodies and open-toed shoes are not permitted
Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
