Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Tele Float Pool assignment in Chandler, AZ, requiring ACLS, BLS and NIHSS, with the ability to titrate cardiac drips.

This role covers Tele, MedSurg, CV and Neuro units across Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses, with 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a). Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam and Sim Lab on orientation day.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or Compact RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips.
• Must interpret EKGs.
• Dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer.
• Sim Lab competency test on orientation day.
• Two professional references with dates and eligibility.
• Copy of driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Float across Tele, MedSurg, CV and Neuro units including ICU and telemetry.
• Cover Tele, MedSurg, CV and Neuro units as needed.
• Floating between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses with 1.5 hours notice.
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 7p-7a.
• Weekend requirements vary by unit, with major holiday coverage.
• Interpret EKGs and manage telemetry monitoring.
• No ventilator management on any unit.
• Support RT and pharmacy coverage 24/7.
• Care for post‑cath lab and post‑surgical patients as assigned.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Tele Float Pool position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with the ability to titrate cardiac drips.

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine) down only
• Ability to interpret EKGs required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer, prior to signing contract
• Must pass a Sim Lab competency test on day one of orientation
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting
• Float pool covering Tele, MedSurg, CV, and Neuro units, including ICU, cardiac tele, observation floors, and holding areas as needed
• Floating required between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses, with notification given 1.5 hours prior to shift start
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (7p-7a)
• Weekend requirements vary by unit, generally every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4 depending on unit
• Cerner EMR used
• Units include CV Tele (32 beds), Neuro Tele (28 beds), and MedSurg (29-32 beds) with Ortho, Surgical, and Oncology populations
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with RNs required to interpret EKGs on cardiac units
• No ventilator management on any unit
• RT and pharmacy coverage available 24/7
• Provide direct patient care across multiple telemetry and medical-surgical units, adjusting to shifting assignments based on facility needs
• Care for post-cath lab, post-vascular, cardiac surgery, neuro post-surgical, and general medical-surgical patient populations
• Work alongside charge nurses and unit supervisors who do not carry patient assignments
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided for each unit
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates who fail the dysrhythmia exam or Sim Lab test will be ineligible for placement with this health system for 6 months
• Candidates must not have been directly employed by any facility within this health system in the past year
• Must maintain permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility for AZ positions
• First-time travelers may be considered
