Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a short-term winter coverage assignment at a Level II Trauma Center requiring CT/Compact RN licensure and tele experience.

Position includes night shifts (3x12), every other weekend, and duties across a high-acuity Telemetry unit with 426 beds. Epic charting will be used; vaccines are required. 10-week contract with housing allowances and travel reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team utilization required.
• 1 professional reference required.

Responsibilities

• Short term acute care hospital setting within the Telemetry unit.
• Level II Trauma Center with 426 staffed beds.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0730).
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required as needed within the department, to the ED for boarding patients, and hospital wide.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• 10-week contract for winter coverage only.
• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response within a high-acuity hospital unit.
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemptions only.
• No holiday RTO permitted for this assignment.
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed.
• Radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available.
